Leaders in Community Alternatives

Linda Connelly, founder and CEO of Leaders in Community Alternatives (LCA), has more than 33 years of experience in the fields of criminal justice, community corrections, electronic monitoring and residential programs. Linda founded LCA in 1991 as an organization committed to successful partnerships with the public sector to offer programs to promote a more successful criminal justice system.

In this podcast, Linda shares her expertise on effective case management, how to track people in urban settings and the keys to running a successful offender paid program. She discusses the need to look at alternatives to incarceration in order to deal with issues that have been prominent in the criminal justice system for more than 30 years, such as prison overcrowding.

Linda also discusses the need to look at community corrections programs as the cost of incarceration continues to rise and economic changes make public funds harder to find. Finally, she discusses the success of various alternative sanction and community correction programs in different judicial applications.
