Memphis Police Department Uses Omnilink Technology to Monitor Offenders 24x7

Memphis, T.N. (WREG)—Police in Memphis, TN use Omnilink GPS offender monitoring bracelets to fight crime and keep the public safe. The Memphis police department recently purchased 1,500 Omnilink ankle bracelets through G4S—an Omnilink technology reseller—and has already deployed more than 150 bracelets in the field.

Memphis uses the devices to stay on top of non-violent repeat offenders, usually convicted of theft or property crimes, who would otherwise be in jail at the taxpayer’s expense.

With Omnilink technology, Memphis police know where offenders are and where they’ve been 24x7. Police use Omnilink’s web-based application to develop suspect lists by cross-referencing offender locations with crime reports, and receive alerts if an offender attempts to tamper with their ankle bracelet.

Communities save money on expensive incarcerations, and have peace of mind that offenders are being watched continuously.
