CAUGHT IN THE ACT: ELECTRONIC MONITORING FOR PRE-TRIAL DEFENDANTS

The Charlotte Mecklenburg County Police Department (CMPD) is currently using the GPS/cellular offender monitoring solution from Omnilink because of the breadth of location data available and the solution's unique ability to track individuals both indoors and outdoors. News 14 Carolina recently covered the story of a repeat offender in Charlotte Mecklenburg County that was caught in the act of committing a crime as a result of the data provided by the GPS monitoring device that he was wearing.

"A Charlotte criminal and repeat offender was busted in the act this week while wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet. Right now more than 100 repeat offenders in Mecklenburg County, bonded out of jail, wear a GPS like bracelet." - Carolina News 14
